ABC Partners with NAMC to Improve Business Climate for Minorities

EAST NORRITON, Pa., July 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Southeast Pennsylvania (SEPA) and Eastern Pennsylvania Chapters of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) and the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) entered into a Partnership Agreement today to form a strategic alliance to promote Free Enterprise, open competition and opportunities for all construction firms. ABC National signed a similar agreement with NAMC on June 5.

"We are pleased to be working with the Eastern PA Chapter and NAMC to develop local initiatives that will help promote free enterprise and opportunities for all," said SEPA's 2006 Chairman, Dave Thompson, Vice President of Thompson Masonry, Pottstown, PA. "Removing barriers and creating access to effective business practices and services increases competitiveness, which benefits the entire construction industry."

The agreement will allow one of the construction industry's leading diversity stakeholders to develop local initiatives with ABC designed to improve the business climate for all contractors, and to empower minority- owned firms by providing them with access to services, training, networking and other programs.

Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. is a national association representing more than 23,000 Merit construction and construction-related firms in 79 chapters across the United States. The Southeast Pennsylvania Chapter represents Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
